1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, browsing the app, or using any part of Lighthouse (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. We may update these terms as the product changes — material changes will be flagged in-app, and continuing to use Lighthouse after an update means you accept the revised terms.

2. What Lighthouse is

Lighthouse is a weekend-discovery app: a map of curated places, route information, an AI assistant, and tools for groups to decide on and organize trips together. It is a discovery and planning aid, not a booking, travel agency, or transportation service — we don't operate any train, bus, or accommodation you may ultimately book elsewhere.

3. Accounts & eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account.
• One account per person — don't create accounts to abuse free-tier limits or promotional offers.

4. Content you share with us

When you import a reel, write a comment, submit a place, or otherwise contribute content, you keep ownership of it, but you grant Lighthouse a license to store, display, and process it as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your comment to other users, or using a submitted place in search results). We only ever process publicly available caption text and thumbnail images from shared reels — never a downloaded video file — consistent with Instagram's own terms of service.

5. Subscriptions & payments

• Lighthouse Pro is billed monthly or annually, at the price shown at the time of purchase.
• Subscriptions made through the Google Play Store are billed, renewed, and cancelled through your Google Play account settings — Lighthouse does not process or store your payment card details for in-app purchases.
• Web checkout, where available, is processed through Razorpay under their own terms.
• Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. Refunds follow the policy of the platform you purchased through (Google Play's refund policy for in-app purchases, or our own stated policy for direct web purchases).
• We may change Pro pricing going forward; existing subscribers will be notified before any change takes effect on their next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Lighthouse to: scrape or bulk-extract our data; submit false, defamatory, or harmful place information; harass other users in comments or Trip Plans; attempt to bypass rate limits, paywalls, or account restrictions; or use the AI assistant for anything outside its stated purpose of travel and place discovery.

7. Third-party content & links

Route information, booking redirects, and "how to reach" links may take you to third-party sites (transport operators, booking platforms) that we don't control and aren't responsible for. Anything we mark as "indicative" — train timings in particular — is a best-effort estimate, not a live schedule; always verify with the official source before booking.

8. Accuracy of information

We aim for every place, route, and brief to be accurate and useful, but some content is AI-extracted from public sources (reel captions, travel videos, web snippets) and may occasionally be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. Use your own judgment before relying on any single piece of information for a real trip — especially anything involving safety, weather, or seasonal access.

9. Intellectual property

The Lighthouse name, logo, app, and design are owned by us. You're welcome to share content from the app (a place card, a trip plan invite) for personal, non-commercial use — but please don't republish our catalog, design system, or branding as your own.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, attempt to abuse the Service, or pose a security risk to other users — where possible, we'll tell you why.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Lighthouse is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any place, route, or recommendation will be perfectly accurate. To the extent permitted by law, Lighthouse isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including anything that happens during a trip you planned using it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka.

13. Changes to these terms

We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date whenever these terms change materially, and where required, notify you in-app.
